- If you know anything about Southern Landscaping trees, you saw this coming! The Crape Myrtle is by far the most popular flowering tree in Texas. Crape Myrtles typically start blooming in May-June and flower all Summer long. This makes them well loved for the color they provide in otherwise very dry months.
